The 2nd FIT4NANO summer school takes place from 11-16 August 2024 in Thun, Switzerland. Applications are accepted until Wednesday, 1st of May.
Participants can expect five full days of lectures, hands-on training, and lab visits. Selected candidates will receive reimbursement covering their accommodation fees, travel costs, and meal expenses.
Summer School Organizers
Dr. Ivo Utke, Empa, Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology
Prof. Dr. Silvia Schintke, HEIG-VD / HES-SO, University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland
The summer school takes place at Pfadiheim Aare, a boy scout home (think youth hostel-style), and will have a camp-like character. Accommodation for students will be in gender separated dorms, meals will mostly be cooked together at the house. Participants have to bring a bedsheet, pillowcase, and a sleeping bag or a blanket (pillows are available).
Due to the venue and structure of the summer school, only a limited number of spaces for in-person participation will be available. Applicants are asked to submit their CVs as well as a description of a FIB related experiment (around ~300 words) they’ve always wanted to do.
Online participation will be possible for the lectures only.
